Oh sweet one! You are so loved.
A few weeks ago, as the winds picked up and the snow/rain blew in, I walked across the street for a cozy morning indoors with some very precious friends. Your aunt Lisa made the walk with me, while we held our hoods on our heads and dashed for the warm home of our very dear neighbors. The house was warm and inviting as it always is, but this day it felt especially so. The coffee was on, candle lit, and table filled with fresh flowers, delicious treats and the cutest looking alphabet blocks that I’ve ever seen.
We were celebrating YOU again sweet one.
If only you understood just how incredibly loved and cherished your little life is. One day I’m hopeful you will know it and feel it as much as I do today. As I greeted each of the dear souls coming through the door, soaking in all the hellos and warm hugs, I couldn’t help but feel grateful myself, and excited for you. All of these beautiful women, mothers themselves, investing into my life and yours. There is something invaluable about having the love and support of people who have experienced more life than you.
In this season, friends who have graced the life of motherhood and openly share their journey are a true blessing to your mama. No un-welcomed advice that is forced, or questions and pressure to have it all figured out. Just friendship, life experience and open dialogue about this journey we are all learning about. The journey of motherhood. The journey of life. These days in our world there is so much extra noise, (you will probably understand it all-too-soon.) but it’s on mornings like this, when I gather around in prayer and sincere conversation like it is the most natural thing in all the world, is when the noise is muted for a sacred few moments.
The gifts that were given, were both tangible and intangible, all of them a true blessing. The gifts of words and prayer are the ones that brought me to tears though. Your life is significant even today sweet child of mine. For all of your days you have been known, first by your creator God and then revealed to each of us in His time. I’m grateful to be your mama, to carry you each of these days- oh what a true joy it is! I’m grateful to have dear friends who love us well and show up in support again and again. For blustery Saturday mornings with warm drinks and delicious cupcakes.
All of it is love, and grace and celebration. The celebration of what we are becoming.
Love forever and always, your mama
