The first trimester fog that is.
Tomorrow I will be a whole 13 weeks along with this little peanut and I couldn’t be more thrilled! The last three months have been wonderfully challenging and everything in between. Although I find myself sitting in the comfort of my bed instead of typing away at my office desk, I’m writing again and it feels like another layer of the fog I’ve been in, almost gone.
As April turned May, the knowledge of this little one growing became ours for the knowing. I could probably write a whole post about the events surrounding this new pregnancy, it truly is a beautifully story our good, good Father wrote for us to live out. I think I cried tears of hope and joy for at least two weeks straight. He has been faithful when I have wavered and trustworthy when I have questioned. (Stay tuned for more on this later).
The last three months have been busy and slow for us all the same. May started and ended with weddings for us. The first one, Celebrating our sweet sister Summer and brother-in-law Alex. Chase and I (baby too) had the honor of standing by their side on their special day. The wedding was everything dreamy and romantic, filled with unique touches and beauty. It’s hard to believe they are turning the page into month two of marriage already!
At the end of the month we traveled to California for wedding number two. Chase and I decided that we should make good on an excuse to go to California and stay for more than a few days. We ended up flying into San Fran. for the start of our trip, where we met up with friends who happened to be vacationing there the same time as us. We went to a baseball game and toured the city a bit, before flying out to L.A. a few days later.
Once in L.A. we picked up our rental car and headed to the airbnb we had booked. *quick side note: we absolutely loved our airbnb experience (besides the feeling sick part for me) highly recommend if you are looking for a good quality, budget friendly place to stay while traveling.* It was so good to have a few days in the middle of our trip for just the two of us. We finished the trip up by celebrating the marriage of our friends Ashely and Jordan. Chase had the honor of standing by Jordan’s side for his special day and we both enjoyed the wedding festivities that the evening held. It was an absolutely gorgeous venue, and just plain classy all around.
We made it home to see the last day of May and then welcomed a new month. June was much more low key all the way around. In all honesty I think we needed the quietness that June held for us. We heard our babes heartbeat for the first time, Chase played softball, I cooked a few meals, we announced our pregnancy, I ran for the first time in months and rested even more. I’ve had to speak grace over myself again and again, and be reminded that there is a lot of work going on behind all the rest and lack of energy.
And today we say hello to July. This month is bound to hold celebration and unknown navigation, but something about a new beginning always has me fresh with inspiration and hopeful goals accomplished. I hope your July is off to a great start this Friday. Thanks for stopping by and hearing what we’ve been up too! Hopeful that this second trimester brings with it more posts!
Until next time…

Lindsey, I have just subscribed to your blog. What a wonderful, talented woman of God you are. I grew up with your mom as my best friend. What wonderful memories I have of all the time we spent together! Congratulations on your new little blessing. God is so good. He allows us to go through struggles and heartache but he also blesses us in his timing. Oh what love he has for us as his children. Know that I am praying for you and Chase as you go through this wonderful journey of parenthood.
