Love is the BEST to celebrate!
Especially when you get to have parties celebrating that love.
Last Saturday, our home was filled with women who know how to celebrate well. We spent our afternoon hours, laughing, chatting, crying with and loving on my sister-in-law Summer. It truly was such a joy to watch Summer enjoying the day.
Any Bride-to-be who has forged through this season of change and planning themselves, knows how beautifully hard this season can be. You have so much joy and hope for the future you are about to begin, and at the same time, you are on overload with planning for the biggest party of your life; along with trying to embrace and understand what exactly this whole married life thing will look and feel like.
And so, as in any season of life, it is good and life-giving to leave margin for rest. To fill back up and remember all the Good that will transpire after the hard. My prayer over Summer while we were all gathered together, was refreshment and community. It is so easy to get distracted by our to do’s that we forget to sit and be still. There is something powerful that happens when we cultivate a space to pause time and laugh. To be women together and have conversation, face to face and side by side.
It truly was a beautiful day, because when our people gather beauty always resides.
And now to the future bride…
Beautiful Summer, what a joy it was to celebrate you and this upcoming covenant between you and Alex. How wonderful it has been to watch you grow together as a couple and closer in step with our sweet Savior. There truly is so much to be celebrated this season, and in the middle of it all, when you feel weary and undone; let HIM breathe fresh life into your Spirit. You are stepping into another beautifully hard season as husband and wife and if you continue to open your heart towards the LORD, making HIM your expectation and joy, you will see that His mercies truly are new and true every morning. I can’t wait to stand by your side in May! In physically standing near you on that day, know that in the days, weeks, and years to come, I will continue to stand with you in prayer, friendship and support!
Love you dear sister!
xoxo!
